Legal and operational boundaries

Responsibility stays where it belongs.

The Shopify merchant remains the seller or merchant of record and controls its storefront, products, policies, taxes and customer relationship.
Ardenti Pay does not capture card details, settle funds, decide chargebacks, or replace Shopify Payments or another payment gateway.
The merchant and integrating platform remain responsible for lawful notices, privacy disclosures, retention periods and honoring applicable data-subject requests.
Access to protected customer data is subject to Shopify approval, applicable plan limitations and the scopes granted by the merchant.
Refund, fulfillment and cancellation records are informational mirrors of provider data; the provider system remains authoritative.

Terminology

Terms used in this integration

Financial status: The provider-reported state of payment activity, such as authorized, paid, partially paid, refunded or pending.
Fulfillment status: The provider-reported state of shipment or delivery; it is distinct from whether payment has settled.
Protected customer data: Customer-identifying information whose access may require additional Shopify review and merchant disclosure.
Access scope: A permission granted to an application for a defined category of store data or action.
